How to record in-person conversations and meetings
Phone microphones fail to capture multi-person conversations at table distance. A participant seated across a dinnertable-sized table is frequently inaudible in a phone recording. Fixing it requires a different device, not a different app.

4 steps to record an in-person conversation or meeting
Method selection and consent happen first. Device placement determines whether every voice in the room is captured.
1. Get consent before starting: explain the purpose and confirm again after the recording begins
Inform all participants the session will be recorded and explain why (accurate notes, sharing with those who could not attend, or future reference). Confirm consent verbally after starting the recording.
2. Choose your recording method: AI app, smartphone, laptop, or a dedicated recorder

3. Place the device at the center of the table and test before the session begins
